Logitech,in my opinion, makes some of the best mice for computers and this one is another great mouse. Its not too small and not too big. Being that it is geared for notebook use, you could get away with it being a mouse for any type of computer.
I have a Mac so it worked like a charm. I liked that it has one of those super tiny USB dongle “nano receivers”, which doesn’t stick out and get in the way when plugged into your laptop as some others do (Microsoft!). The mouse is light and tracks very well an precise. It runs on two AA batteries that are included and is said to last 18 months.
I did notice that due to the slant of the mouse that it felt a little uncomfortable in the finger areas. Not really a big deal but i’m used to ones that have a higher arch as I use the Logitech MX revolution. Its not really a big deal but some might not like it because of it.
The mouse comes with a small little metal tin that holds the “clip and go” nibs and nib remover. These nibs attach to your laptop or anyplace you want to clip the mouse onto. It also will shut the mouse off when clipped in or when you put the nano receiver in the battery compartment. I think it would have been better if the area to put away the nano receiver was outside of the battery compartment because to use it you have to remove the battery cover on and off to get to it. They may have purposely designed it this way thinking it would be a travel mouse and that the nano receiver could get lost easily because its so tiny?
My biggest complaint is that it doesn’t have the thumb buttons that I use for web browsing. If it had these I would have given it 5 stars.
Pros:
-Size
-Battery Life
-laser precision and accuracy
-Mini USB Dongle “Nano Receiver”
-2.4 Ghz cordless, no slow or delays in performance
Cons:
-Comfort could be better
-Can’t shut off unless you use the “Clip and Go” or put the nano receiver under the battery door in its holder
-no thumb forward or back web browsing buttons

I really like this mouse but it could be much better if:
((((
:: is connected via bluetooth… My notebook has just two usb ports… will be better to connect wirelessly!!!
:: the wheel is not working as a clicker… you can not click the wheel to open a new tab in browser
:: it is very useful to have the mouse on your screen notebook clipped but it doesnt really look good on my awesome mac! you can not re-use the clipper
otherwise it is very cool

Function wise this is what you would expect from Logitech, well made, easy to install and use, ergonomically it’s also nice, even though I consider it large for a “notebook mouse”.
What happened to Bluetooth? (is another argument) but for connectivity, the best feature without a doubt is the Nano USB plug and forget, so you don’t risk having a 2 inch jump drive hanging out the side of your laptop.
I have a very nice Asus bluetooth mouse that requires no adapter at all, and that’s even better – as most notebooks have bluetooth these days.
Also remember, wireless is wireless, you shouldn’t use this on an aircraft in flight.
Battery life is claimed to be amazing (we shall see), although I can’t figure out why these companies don’t just make one that shuts itself off after 15 minutes of inactivity??? Most of us (to be honest) forget to switch off a mouse.
As for the clip, well ho hum, I like the idea of a slim laptop that fits snugly and swiftly in and out of a neoprene sleeve. Having an electronic carbuncle stuck on the lid isn’t that convenient as far as my use goes.
All that said, it IS a nice mouse. $44 is a little steep, the MSRP of over $75, well that’s just a joke. 4 stars.

Outstanding product! I am a field service technician and use my laptop all the time at different customer sites. I am constantly packing and unpacking the computer. Two really great things. The mouse works EVERYWHERE. The mouse travels well. Bonus is when I pack to leave, I clip it onto the laptop and I don’t forget it at the account! I was considering a blue-tooth mouse, but my laptop would need an upgrade for blue-tooth. The mini-usb connector on the v550 is so small it does not interfer with anything. The 3 year warrantly is a big plus also.

I was so very pleased with the purchase process. The shipping was extremely fast. The product was more than I could ever hoped for. For anyone thinking about buying the Logitech V550 do not hesitate. It is more than worth the price. Not to mention buying through Amazon was a easy fast way to purchase the product
