After using this mouse for a day, I think i'm going to return it.

Pros:
Mouse feels solid and well built
Good tracking
Good ergonomics, excluding thumb button placement
Nice click feeling from the buttons

So it tracks well and feels nice enough to use. Why am I getting rid of it? Well, there are a lot of issues with this mouse.

Cons:
Scroll wheel doesn't work properly
Weak battery will require constant changing
Thumb button placement is akward
Bloated drivers

The dealbreaker for me is the scroll wheel. From all the marketing fluff, you would think that the scroll wheel is the central feature of this mouse. Well, it just doesn't work. If I scroll fast enough to get the free moving scroll wheel in motion, the pages don't fly by, in fact they slow down to a crawl. Not only does the scrolling slow down, my year and a half computer becomes bogged down for a minute, and I lose complete control of the active window. When using the normal click scrolling, I just can't seem to get the right scrolling speed. If I use the software to get the correct sensitivity/speed for webpages, one click will jump 2 pages at a time in a pdf. If I use the configuration software for acceptable scrolling in pdf files, using the scroll wheel on web pages is excruciatingly slow. In short, the scroll wheel just doesn't work right.

Battery life after a full charge is reported as 14 days by the driver software, but it's really more like 3 days unless you religiously use the on/off switch. If the mouse runs out of batteries, you're out of luck until the recharge is complete, because the battery is non removable.

I had to really stretch my thumb to reach the side scroll wheel and back button. I have average size male hands, so I suspect that many other people will notice the same problem. For an ergonomic mouse, I find the button placement questionable.

Drivers took at least 5 minutes to install. I can install turbo tax quicker. These are mouse drivers, what gives? I suspect the bloated drivers have something to do with the poor performance of the scroll wheel. Come on logitech, hire a decent programmer or two.

My overall feeling is that this is a nice piece of hardware hampered by poor drivers. I can live with the charger and awkward button placement, but even cheapo mice for 1/10th the price have better functioning scroll wheels.

Logitech has the worst rebate service I have ever dealt with in my life. Took me more than 10 emails/phone calls/letters and spent more than a total of 10 hours to get my $20 rebate from Logitech. It's a joke - Logitech would not set up your rebate program in their computer system unless a lot of customers purchase the item with exact the same rebate program. Or you have to make phone calls everyday to request. Not just me, another guy I know had exact the same bad experience with Logitech rebate center.

Having burned through three standard Microsoft Optical wireless 3000 mice I decided to shell out for something nice with a high res laser and other features... I have to say in almost every way the Microsoft optical mouse (which cost about 1/3 of this mouse) is superior. The feel in the hand, the connectivity, the response time, everything about that product out of the package was perfect. The best feel of any mouse I've touched. The biggest problem with the Microsoft 3000 notebook-optical-wireless is quality of the parts inside. I had two USB recivers just stop working within two months of purchase, so I decided it was time to look elsewhere and unfortunately that led me to this mouse.

The VX Revolution Cordless looks like a high-end piece of equipment, however its performance is absolutely horrible in comparison to what I was getting from its much less expensive Microsoft counterpart. The extra productivity features built into the mouse I found pretty useless, for some this may be its redeeming value. For me, I bought it looking for something with superior feel and excellent performance and in both of those categories I would give this product a grade: D-. For every reviewer praising it, I question their experience with wireless optical mice, because this isn't good. This isn't what you should expect from response time. I've gone through about five wireless-optical mice between my desktop and notebook, I typically use my computer more than eight hours a day so I know what I consider feels good and I certainly know what performance should be. I also know the importance of finding that right mouse when you're hand is going to be on it a good chunck of your day, every day. If you're not easy to frustrate and you don't mind when the nouse just doesn't work sometimes this may be ok for you, it is a very pretty product, it looks like a piece of art. For me, its performance, feel and connectivity have led my decision to return it.

Admittedly, I may be biased in my review due to the horrific buying experience with TigerDirect. They sent the wrong item, wouldn't send a replacement to me without charging me again. Instead of overnighting the replacement to correct a mistake that they made, they sent it ground and charged me for the shipping. Then, they required that I send the wrongly sent item to them by UPS, and it's been quite some time since I've sent it in -- first week of December -- and although I know they received it, I'm still waiting to be refunded...I originally placed the order on November 11...it is now January 4th.

The number of hours spent being put on hold has totaled around 10+ houirs according to my cell phone bill -- each time I've called them, I've waited at least half-hour on hold. All of this because some moron at TigerDirect packed the wrong item. Awful, awful customer service. Pity, our family has spent a lot of money with them, but it looks like this is where that road ends.

After having gone through the six week saga, although the mouse seems to be defective, I don't have the energy to deal with them any more. The scroll wheel is nice, I will admit, but a fundamental feature of a mouse, the left- and right-click buttons, only work sporadically. I'm constantly double- to triple- clicking just to get a single-click out of it, and quadruple clicking just to get a double-click. I've been having to resort to the keyboard quite a bit because of this. Even without the TigerDirect frustration, this would be an absolute nuisance.

Otherwise, as a notebook mouse, it is a good size, but note that as compared to a regular mouse, it is considerably smaller. The fact that the switch for the smooth vs. click scroll is on the bottom of the mouse is somewhat of a design flaw as well. Also because of the weight of the scroll wheel, the otherwise light mouse has a very different center of gravity, much higher off of the desk. No real complaints about it yet, but it is definitely noticeable, especially when looking to do precise work.

Overall it is a decent mouse, not sure why they don't have a bluetooth version, and I only wished it would actually do what a mouse is fundamentally supposed to do. Clicking.

Honestly, perhaps the most pathetic mouse I have ever handled. And I'm surprised. I did a lot of research before buying it, and was expecting a good mouse. I have used the Logitech MX 1000, the very best mouse they have ever made bar-none, and the LX7, not a bad mouse either, but I lost the receiver for it, and needed a new one.

So, the main issue with this mouse. Control. You have none. The thing just bounces all over the show with a mind of its own. Scrolling is a total and complete joke. There's a profound lack of consistency in anything the mouse does. You should be able to get used to a mouse to the point that you know exactly what hand movement is needed to click any spot on your screen. Not with this mouse, it's all guess work. Clicks often don't register, and when clicking and dragging, the cursor often just stays still as you're dragging the mouse.

So this mouse is going back today. Sorry Amazon, not your fault, but if you sell a crappy item, you're asking for it.

And yes, I do find it odd that all these reviews are so good here. Perhaps they are Windows PC users who are simply not use to the level of control and pin-point accuracy we ARE used to on the Mac.
