This is a pretty good motherboard that is fairly priced and great for Windows Vista and 7. Don’t bother if you want to run Windows XP; this is a legacy-free motherboard that’s meant to finally rid world of 20-year-old standards like PS/2, Parallel and Serial ports, and has all sorts of on-board devices that XP and other old operating systems simply won’t recognize. It’s so hardcore that the install *fails*. This is for your own good. It’s also a really reliable board and I have had no problems with it. However, it *is* incredibly sensitive to sunspots and cosmic radiation. I’ve had problems with random areas of my RAM being corrupted by messages from the future civilization telling me of the eventual destruction of the planet in the year 2180. My friends tell me that it’s a dirty trick, and that my libgcc++ was hacked by chinese hackers, thus the malloc() function is simply barfing out random messages. It’s all lies though, this motherboard is too awesome to be tricked by techniques of mortal hackers. No, this is most definitely the work of undead daemons that have traversed the endless seas of time and space to tell me sweet, pleasant memories, of your immortal mother, the eternal meta-immortal mate and close Grand Vizier of Its Holiness the FSM.

I’ve built three PC’s with this board, and had to replace all of them, due to repeated hangs in Windows Explorer (XP SP3) – replaced memory, HD’s, power supply, SATA cables; tried IDE, AHCI and RAID disk modes; updated BIOS and drivers, reinstalled Windows several times, all to no avail. I can only conclude that there is a design flaw somewhere, and therefore it’s back to the DP and DQ35 series for me (those never gave me any trouble…).

Ok so bought this product through amazon great service, but bad product not amazons fault but mine, ok the other reviews about this mobo being good maybe dont use a 800mhz ddr2 ram, and if they do, they dont know that in the bios settings its actually working at 667mhz, okay so here is the problem, if you change this parameter in te bios to 800mhz which it says it supports, the mobo dies, how? well it appears that if you do that the motherboard will go crazy and there will be no way to reset the bios, because it will turn on and 1 second later it will turn off, ive tried everything that support from intel have said, nothing happens, so please save yourself a headech and dont buy this motherboard spend a few more bucks and buy any other, NOT INTEL!!!! worst 110 dollars spent in my life, havent been more dissapointed in my life! oh by the way im an IT in computer hardware so dont think im just talking here without knowing what im actually saying!

A decent board for the price, though be aware it has no parallel port so all your hardware is going to have to have SATA data connections. It does provide power with both Molex and SATA connectors though. It provides a minumum amount of documentation, and if your lucky the labels on your case will match the labels on the motherboard. If your not lucky (like me) you close your eyes, plug it in, and hope it doesn’t blow up (It didn’t). It runs hot (if you live in the desert), and I will have to find a better cooling system next summer
