I bought two of these to place in my 17″ Unibody MacBook Pro. This required removing the optical drive and using a mount/adapter sold by MCE and/or Powerbook Medic. I installed both drives in the computer in under 20 minutes and created a striped RAID between both drives, leaving me with 1 (one) 1.5TB internal drive. RAID works by random distribution of file placement between the drives.
I have played many games, loaded multimedia, and transferred many documents and I do not have any noticeable performance loss!
I recommend this product to anyone who want a lot of space and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money, whether you place one or two (in my case) in a Mac or PC notebook.

I bought this hard drive as a replacement for my Macbook Pro, I was aware that the performance would be lower because it is a 5200 rpm hard drive, but I thought the difference would not be that much.
Before I have used 5400 rpm hard drives and the machine works considerable ok, fast enough for the work, but with this hard drive you have to think is twice, of course it is nice to have 750GB available in your computer, especially when you run more that one operating system, but this 200 rpm from 5400 to 5200 rpm, really make the difference, especially iPhoto and iTunes Library take longer time to open.
Another factor is the power consumption, I bought the new Macbook Pro among other things, because of the battery life (7 hours) be aware that with this hard drive now I have only 3 hours battery life, Imagine in a laptop with a lower battery capacity.
And last but not least, the dimensions, this hard drive is thicker than most of the 2.5″ hard drives that I have seen, I could install it on the computer, but I worries me the temperature because now in that part there i no room for any airflow.
